• A trip-length input so we know whether you're going for a weekend or a month.

• Live estimates of your per-day and total trip data usage that update as you drag.

• A recommended plan that automatically updates — the cheapest plan in our inventory that covers your usage, with a validity that matches your trip dates.

• A graceful fallback for heavy users: if no single plan covers your trip, we'll surface our largest matching option with a clear note that you may want to top up.

Why it matters

Most travellers either under-buy and run out, or over-buy and waste money. The reason isn't carelessness — it's that nobody really knows what "10GB" means in practice. (Spoiler: it depends on whether you're streaming Netflix on the train or staying offline at the beach.) Help me choose flips that around: you tell us how you actually use your phone, we tell you the plan that fits.

One small thing worth knowing: most hotels, cafés, and restaurants have Wi-Fi — only count time you'll actually be on mobile data. The tool's a guide for the times you'll be on the go.

Roaming data is precious. Knowing how much you've used is one thing — knowing when and how fast you're burning through it is something else entirely. Today we're shipping detailed usage: a full breakdown of your data consumption over time, on every active eSIM.

What's new

• A new Detailed usage view on every active eSIM, opened with a single click from your eSIM page

• A cumulative usage chart showing every snapshot since activation, with your plan limit drawn as a clear reference line

• A daily usage chart so you can see which days were heavy (the day you streamed Netflix on the train) versus light (the day you stayed offline at the beach)

• Average per day and a smart forecast that estimates if you'll run out before your plan expires — so you can decide whether to top up early

Why it matters

Knowing the pattern of your usage — when it happened, how fast you're burning through it, whether you're on track — turns roaming data from guesswork into something you can plan around. Spot a heavy day before it becomes a depleted plan. Decide on a top-up before you're stuck without service.

Data refreshes automatically every hour while your eSIM is active. No need to check in — it's just there when you want it.

We've shipped a few improvements based on real-world usage from our first customers:

Accurate eSIM status tracking — Your eSIM now correctly shows as "Installed" after you add it to your device, and only moves to "Active" once you connect to a network in your destination country. Your plan countdown starts when you actually arrive, not before.

Live coverage monitoring — We now automatically monitor network coverage changes across all plans. If an operator upgrades from 4G to 5G or a new carrier is added, your plan details update automatically.

Improved plan details — Country pages now show carrier information, nearby destinations, and clearer plan breakdowns so you can pick the right plan with confidence.
